Rest is still something I’m massively learning with, we are all different so it’s a personal journey we all need to take.

I guess I knew about low reps / high weight and high reps lower weight but splitting it into the 3 really makes some sense. Interesting the difference between strength and hypertrophy.

Re supplements, I put a piece on this on my blog. There are a lot of views that Protein is just for the beefcakes but I found it so critical to recovery, I sure notice it when I don’t drink it – we even take it skiing now to help the recovery (prior to traditional Apres Ski 🙂

Fully agree with your comments on rest also, its that fine balance of pushing on, but not pushing over!

– 10-15 strength training reps is perfect
– rest is hard to do …but essential !!
– a scoop of protein powder and fresh berries / bananas with soya milk is yummy
– stretching is an art and what most athletes don’t do enough off
– a few pints of guiness and a whisky are great for keeping your training in perspective
